Autumn Adventures

As the cooler autumn weather sneaks in, what’s more perfect than reading some of your child’s favorite adventure books

Engage your child and start talking about your past summer and any mini-adventures you may have been on, like the day at the beach swimming in the ocean. Did you do any fishing on the lake picking wild flowers or go on an awesome vacation?

What fun things do you have planned; a fall camping trip? This great camping adventure story would be perfect. Or, have plans to go see the circus coming to town? Going pumpkin picking or climbing trees for apples are all terrific mini-adventures.

Be sure to help your child discover the adventures in your every day, it will make the days much more exciting and their favorite adventure book way more interesting…and there’s nothing better than fun reading time!

Reading Like a Super Hero

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Superman

Who is your child’s favorite super hero? Time to put on your capes, grab your lasers and put your magic parent powers to the test; cuddle up on the couch with your child and catch up on adventures of your favorite

Maybe it’s Wonder Woman; Amazon warrior princess or Spider-Man who can scale walls, leap tall buildings and has a keen spider sense.

Talk about your child’s special powers, what makes them unique and super cool. Are they a super nice friend? Do they have a keen sense of kindness? Maybe they have extra awesome manners. Be sure to let your child know all of their super powers and how neat they are.

Back to School Checklist

It’s that time of year again; back to school! All of us here at KD Novelties love the back to school season. While your child is surely all geared up with fun supplies and settling into his or her new classroom, be sure they are enjoying their new routine too. Whether the child in your life is a preschooler who just started school for the first time, moved up a grade or even entered a new school this year, an encouraging book could really help ease the transition for both parents and students.

Here are a few other ideas to keep the school year FUN…

  • Create a calendar so the child in your life can mark down each day of school and any countdown to any fun projects or open house coming up
  • Let your child plan their super cool outfit for school each night
  • Talk about all the fun activities they will be doing in class such as art projects, classroom pets they might have or interesting books they might be reading
